The Parliamentary Election Law of Mongolia which was approved by the Parliament on December 20, 2019 provides that  “the parliamentary election shall be announced and the election date shall be set by February 1 of the election year”, “the date of the regular election shall be one of the business days falling the second half of June in the election year”, and  “election day shall be a national holiday”.

 Accordingly, the Resolution titled "Announcing the 2020 Parliamentary Election and setting the election date" which states the regular Parliamentary Election to be announced by February 1, 2020 and the date of the regular Parliamentary Election to be June 24, 2020 has been approved by the Parliament with voting of 76.9 percent of the members present at the plenary session.

Thereafter, the draft resolution on “using technical equipment in the regular Parliamentary Election" was discussed and approved by Parliament with voting 82.9 percent of the members present at the plenary session. The draft resolution accepted the use of a “New Image Cast” counting device in the voter registration process in the 2020 Parliamentary Election to poll, count, and total the votes.
