BAN KI-MOON: MONGOLIA SHOULD INVEST WISELY IN INFRASTRUCTURE - INTERVIEW
The Official Gazette sat down with Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, the Former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chairman of Boao Forum for Asia. He talked about the importance of the Boao Forum for Asia and other important issues in the region.
-This year’s main subject is “concerted action for common development”. What is the importance of common development?
-Common development can bring prosperity to all people. This is realigned with sustainable development goals, agenda 2030, which was adopted by the United Nations in 2015. That means to leave no one behind. Everybody should be able to enjoy. This is what common development is. Mongolia can benefit from common development and achieve peace and prosperity. It is important that border member states, including Mongolia, should implement sustainable development goals. This is also important that we do not forget international trade and investment is win-win cooperation based on mutual respect and understanding. Through common development, we can achieve a stable relationship between and among nations. This is one of the important philosophical goals of the UN agenda 2030.
